How Our Robinson Rebuild Process Works

1. Aircraft Selection

Swift identifies and purchases suitable time expired Robinson helicopters based on their history, condition and potential for a complete professional rebuild.

2. Complete Strip Down

The helicopter is carefully dismantled by our maintenance partner, Heliserve. The interior, frames, landing gear and relevant components are removed, taking the aircraft back to its bare shell.

3. Component Assessment

Required cores are returned to Robinson Helicopter Company, while Heliserve assesses the remaining components against the relevant inspection, overhaul and replacement requirements.

4. Engine and Structural Inspections

For R22 and R44 projects, the Lycoming engine is stripped and inspected for overhaul. Non destructive testing is carried out on areas such as the frames and landing gear to detect issues that may not be visible during a standard external inspection. R66 aircraft have different turbine engine and overhaul requirements, so each R66 project is assessed and planned separately by Heliserve’s specialist team.

5. Choose Your Specification

Where a purchaser becomes involved during the rebuild, we work with them to select their preferred paint colour, Robinson interior finish and suitable equipment or avionics options.

6. Professional Reassembly

Heliserve completes the professional reassembly of the aircraft. Inspected frames and landing gear are refitted alongside the required new or overhauled components. R22 and R44 engines are overhauled using genuine Lycoming parts where applicable.

7. Completion and Handover

Once Heliserve has completed the rebuild, inspections, documentation and required checks, Swift coordinates the final handover of the aircraft to its new owner.

Sales Supported by Robinson Specialists

Swift Helicopter Services works closely with Heliserve, our specialist maintenance and overhaul partner. Heliserve is a Robinson Helicopter Company Authorised Service Centre and UK CAA approved Combined Airworthiness Organisation.

All technical overhaul and rebuild work is carried out by Heliserve’s experienced team. Its services for the Robinson R22, R44 and R66 include scheduled maintenance, airworthiness support, component replacement, overhauls, Non destructive Testing, avionics upgrades, interior refurbishment and aircraft repainting.

Swift manages the sales process and works with each customer to understand their requirements, while Heliserve provides the specialist engineering knowledge behind the aircraft.

This relationship also means our support does not have to end when the sale is completed. We can help owners plan for the continued maintenance and airworthiness requirements of their helicopter throughout their ownership.

Aviation Finance Support

Swift Helicopter Services can assist eligible customers with aviation finance through Close Brothers Asset Finance.

This may help private owners and commercial operators spread the cost of purchasing a pre owned or professionally rebuilt Robinson helicopter. Each application is considered individually, and finance remains subject to status, eligibility, lender approval and applicable terms.

Clear Warranty Information

Eligible new and factory overhauled Robinson parts are covered by the Robinson Helicopter Company Limited Parts Warranty for one year from delivery from the RHC factory or the first 1,000 operating hours, whichever occurs first.

Warranty coverage is subject to Robinson’s full terms and applies to qualifying defects in materials and workmanship. Engines, batteries, instruments, avionics and other third party equipment are generally covered separately by their respective manufacturers.

The warranty position can vary between individual components, so the applicable coverage will be explained as part of the aircraft’s sales documentation.
